With regards to reading aloud of text messages, there are a few things to look out for:
1. You need to have the messageLOUD active
2. Read My Inbox is for emails and does not read text messages. (Text messages are read aloud in real time when as they arrive.)
3. If you adjusted any messageLOUD settings we suggest you change those back and try again.
4. Check in your settings under Primary Settings and click Manage Accounts- there check that the relavant apps like Skype, WhatsApp and Facebook are turned on so that their messages will be read out
6. If you have any 'booster' type apps on your phone, these can block messageLOUD. Remove or disable these to test.
7. Please remove any other 'read aloud' apps, these will interfere too.
